Yeah I agree with this take, I think of Montesquieu, Voltaire, Rousseau, Hobbes, Hume, Mill etc etc vs Robespierre and the Jacobins as the difference between the theory and dissemination of the idea of the Enlightenment vs the Enlightenment in action (which turns really bloody and violent)
