Spicy take 1 is that less people are building for mass adoption rn than we think I bet we see a lot more hypergigabrain focused DeFi protocols/slightly different alt L1s/Whitepaper bait stuff released this year but not much of the “bring the rest of the internet” along stuff we like to talk about.
Tend to agree here. I think there’s a bigger focus on serving a niche over serving as many people as possible. I know @stoic has some thoughts on this and the next wave of tools being focused on abstracting web3.
There’s need for both. Some can explore the weirdo fringes, others make it broadly accessible and valuable. I see quite a few defi/fintech infra projects building this year, plus regs are slowly getting clearer, so hopefully there will be a much better foundation for normie onboarding projects in a year or so.
