Interesting to see just how much cheaper Taipei is than Singapore now. Hotels in Taipei often cost less than monthly rent of apartments with comparable floor area in SG. I expect that as SG "gets full", many other nearby places in Asia will start to benefit from lots of migrants.
Living in Taipei is perfect. However after staying ChiangMai for roughly a week I changed my mind π
The fear here is how this drives up costs for locals. What is the best way to design a Techno utopia without flooding the economic waters of the host country?
I live in Singapore and the housing inflation has been insane. Anyone renewing their tenancy agreements this year has seen a 40β60% increase, and I know of people whoβve decided to leave the country as it was no longer worth it. Indonesia with its βdigital nomadβ visa is one of the beneficiaries of the exodus
Good News from indonesia: Foreigners Now Eligible to Own Property in Indonesia. Before indonesia also introduces 10-Year Visa Second Home Program for foreigners (means foreigners can now apply to stays longer in indonesia).
SG is already "full" rofl just look at the rental and property prices here.
Yes, like a crowded WoW server people will flock elsewhere. We need more top tier global cities anyway. US also has this problem. Used to be only SF, NY and LA more or less. Perhaps now Austin and Miami added. But why? Such a big country. Way better to have more than just a few established cities.
Yep. Miss Taipei. In SG now. For sure gonna still be #1 hub in the region. And will still grow *immensely* years to come. See u used to live in SG?
