Meme proliferation is often shrugged off as an unserious and juvenile aspect of Nouns. But I’m increasingly convinced that meme proliferation is *the* thing. It has downstream impacts on governance, public goods and building things but the meme is the highest order thing. Nouns should invest much more in this sid

as cringey as it sounds on paper, memes create culture

Everything I’ve ever tried to do was in service to this goal, was always inspired by the idea that the only thing we had to serve was “proliferation of the meme”

I’ve been pondering this a ton lately and need to write the tactical follow up to this piece: https://enid.mirror.xyz/ajKsfRQw056mYfT6opwa_IO7ePhwhLCWgCSox8rIaGw

it’s also a very tractable and fun problem to work on. it took not that many hours to set in motion a super bowl commercial and feature documentary / giant float in the rose parade. what else can we achieve?

Imo memes can make a vision more fun, tangible, and memorable for people with an increasingly small attention span

Is there such a thing as a long form meme? Something that runs in a way like tales of the oral tradition?

‘proliferating a meme’ is quite broad. by virtue of being broad, it can easily have downstream effects. interested in knowing about the kind proliferation efforts you’d like to see.

Feel like their release of https://nouns.build/ was a step towards enabling memeification for all. “Nouns builder allows anyone to easily deploy a DAO in minutes. Inspired by NounsDAO, Nouns builder uses a factory contract called the Manager to create custom Nouns-styled DAOs.” Nice e.g., https://purple.construct
