Does anybody here build their own soil? If so, do you have a super minimal guide for someone who does not want to go deep in the rabbit hole. Just wants an easy recipe with no real gear needed? 🙃
Depends on what you have readily available. If you have access to lot of fall leaves, just keep piling them, and you'll get great soil in 4-6 months
Depends on scale - this is a classic approach https://squarefootgardening.org/2023/04/the-magic-of-mels-mix-soil/
Depends what space you have available, in my own place I had a compost pile that produced some wonderful soil. Hot composting made the process faster, and helped kill weed seed or other nastys. A tumbler can be a nice addition if space is more restricted.
If you're filling new raised beds then there are good mix recipes that you can find online. If you're amending existing soil (top soil or old beds) then that takes a bit different approach. What are your plans?
