this cast is the biggest flex of a rhetorical question iโve ever read
"Excellence is a habit. You're doing this for yourself." I think would be my go to response.
Old school would disagree. Old school would never work for free. Leaving Marx theory and the relative surplus aside, the best way to advance your career as a young person is leaving the office and learning (by doing) something useful which the AI cannot learn on the next years imo. What would recommend you?
I would disagree with pomp. That is highway to burnout, for the young man and for the team (as it becomes a contest on who can stay longer).
from pomp, from trump pfp, and from you... it's like irony-ception my head is spinning ๐
Too overrated. The idea of working more and spending more energy is overrated. Thatโs not how nature / life works.
I think it's a good tit for tat. Trump pfp guy clearly seems to be hitting back in bad faith, looking for a fight IMO.
I'd say put quality of work over quantity. Doing more work isn't necessarily better. Doing better work shows that you really care and take pride in your craft. Also making your boss look good and building good work relations is a great tip. Relationships are key.
I get both. In the right circumstances, showing passion and commitment is a great way to advance (if that's what you want). I also get that my time has value, both monetarily and otherwise, and giving up more time for the same money devalues it and leaves less time for other priorities, and some will profit off my loss
Seems like this wonโt be an issue once fractionalized ownership is everywhere and everyone who works on or uses a product is part owner Then we will all want to see the company/product succeed since weโre actually sharing the benefits of that success, instead of 99% of success going to 0.1% of the population ๐
