That's it, we have to stop calling Nouns a DAO. Makes no sense to be in the same category as protocol DAOs (eg ENS), service DAOs (eg Vector) or investment DAOs (eg Moloch). Nouns remains a category of one, for now. https://x.com/eladmallel/status/1707874933143928984?s=46&t=yeVCQbYaKXCy5LPHR5y__g

Anyone know who owns the handle @nouns on Twitter?

Yeah I think the "organization" framing lends itself to certain assumptions that run counter to how Nouns operates in reality

Most DAOs should just be called communities

aspirationally nouns aims to be like ethereum, a world of its own. the dao (now we have two daos for that matter) is simply a funding body in that world, primarily focused on funding public goods.

When helping to start ENERGY I pushed hard to not call it a DAO, everyone brings their own baggage to that term. We went with: “ENERGY is a creative grants collective. We fund creative arts and engineering projects on Zora Network.”

Ironically Nouns is one of the few projects that should call itself a DAO. But I agree the word is devoid of any meaning at this point
