Even then: now you have OG L1 tokens and L2, so what do you do about that? Let people redeem/burn to bridge? Then you risk fragmenting your users. Didn't y00ts do this recently? What % ended up bridging over?
I’m assuming each DAO would have to vote to decide whether to move. Yeah it’s messy. Much easier for new DAOs just launching.
the fragmentation point is a very good callout. something @neokry and i have been thinking about is keeping auctions on L1, but governance (props and votes) on L2 and transmit messages between L2 <-> L1 via smth like LayerZero
with other nft projects there is less incentive to bridge. for nouns daos you have no voting power unless you bridge since the treasury / governance migrates to L2
