New UX on Warpcast mobile: channel icons - Channels now have visual icons - Discover, join and leave channels by tapping the "All" button (you no longer need the NFT to join) - New Books and LA channel experiments - Renamed Following to Home and Highlights to Trending
Slowly moving Home to an algorithmic feed over the next few weeks. We think this is the best UX for most users, esp. new users. The algo will take into account following, interactions and onchain. We will also be adding a Following (simple reverse chronological) feed option for those that don't want an algo.
Love it, at first I thought you guys replicated Instagram stories, was expecting posted pictures 😂
💯 the redesign is awesome! how is the icon read by Warpcast? can metadata be easily updated?
Cool stuff One thing you may want to consider is how to educate new users on how the channels work It’s not obvi that you have to post deliberately into a channel vs it being filters on the main feed
Interesting to see such exploration. On update my first reaction was more like “what’s happening” (despite knowing it was coming). Now thinking about it, and wondering whether the design does not clash with the rest of the UI. Feeling like real estate shared between Scott Forstall and the Materials team.
So glad you removed the NFT requirement…I didn’t know that existed. And now, suddenly more good content since the channels appeared!
How does Warpcast pick the casts to be shown in these channels? For example, I attended FarCon, had a ticket in my wallet, but don’t believe my casts showed up in that channel. Another ex: I see casts in Books that are just a quote w/ attached cover image. How does Warpcast know to include those in that channel?
love itttttt 💜 what is the target for the LA and books channels? And I guess NFT? the DAOs i’m guessing is a respective smart contract
Love the updates, but I do think some degree of token gating for channels would help shift people off of Discord and serve that relatively high activity web3 population. Maybe a flavor of future group DCs could allow token gating, and look like a channel? Now Channels are kinda Topics.
