Germany is the Mecca of cryptocurrencies because you don't have to pay taxes. I really hope that doesn't change. What are your opinions?

The German stereotype tends to be square, precise, meticulous... but when it comes to taxes and accounting, they have always been quite free and creative compared to the rest of Europe. As far as I remember is that way, 1 year "vesting". And if you think is smarter (and beneficial) as so far there is no agreement.

Until recently it was even better in Portugal. But I’m not sure how staking gains are categorized. Is there as well the 1y vesting period?

For long term investments (>12 months) it's perfect. For launching your own token, it's the opposite. And same for trading.
