at @coinbase, I led the multi-year rewrite of our apps to react and react native made our apps way better and our teams an order of magnitude faster with @base, we are doing that for the backend by bringing everything onchain expect 10x better product and speed
in both cases, there are/were skeptics - won't work, cost too much, take too long, be a bad technology choice, etc our approach is to tune out the noise, focus on the tech, and think long term. the best work takes years and is non-consensus. innovation is hard for a reason!
better chain indexing flows are much needed! graph, subsquid, ponder etc are good already but still so much manual work just to get some historical data from the chain
We see that and it's awesome! I had a call with Alex, provided additional feedback and suggestions regarding Base nodes.
I read most of the articles Coinbase put out about moving to React Native, they were helpful
Sorry to say but I recently switched from @coinbasewallet to @rainbow because I was constantly struggling with the inapp web browser on Android. If I could just disable that. Also sometimes I had to force close and restart the app to get the sign transaction modal. Not what you want when you try to buy that popular NFT
I'm building with Astro, Next-JS, React, and Supabase for exactly this reason. The ability to handle scale with little worry makes the nightmare that it is worth it.
