gm If you’re new here, returning, or just someone who wants to get more out of Farcaster, I put a lot of heart into this essay. No growth hacks or schemes. Just real thoughts on how to express to the community that you’re here to be part of the Scenius 🫡 https://www.wysr.xyz/p/fast-rope-into-farcaster
me when i see a link that starts with wysr dot xyz https://i.imgflip.com/7rp6ze.jpg
lol I just got this feedback from a stranger who I'm assuming didn't read the essay, but somehow also gets my substack?? What do y'all think - is it good advice 😂😂😂
Thanks! Been thinking where to lean in and found what you wrote particularly helpful. "What do I know that others may not virtue of my life, background, country of origin, language, associations, life choices, career opportunities, and mistakes Cast that" I'll be leaning into NFT Finance & building a startup!
This is A+, I only felt personally attacked 3 or 4 times. But don’t think we’re not going to hold you to this 👇
Some really good stuff in there that is useful but also shows how different FC culture is. I like that double dip. Clearly you put a lot into this but should pay off as a benefit to many. 🫡
Great read for both new and seasoned casters! Love the title + subtitle. I agree completely about how nice the vibe is here (and how rare). I'd call this essay essential lore of the sort that belongs in a quick-find location for easy access. I've bookmarked it. Would make a nice addition to the FC scenius canon too.
That was an informative read. Thank you for taking the time to write it.
The hard part I’m finding on here is that my life is based in audio and this app doesn’t support video or audio. And I get that. But trying to figure out how to engage has been difficult for me.
this was a nice read! i lurk a lot on socials bc i've always felt weird dropping into random convos but i'm trying to get over that and just reply if i have any input or questions regardless of whether it comes off as dumb or smart (⌒_⌒;)
Thanks for setting cool examples. I’ve spent time on IG and eventually my time spent there has slowed to virtually no time. I didn’t really know why until I started to discover some new spaces for connecting. Decentraland was a huge contributor to this for me. And through it I found Warpcast. Glad to be here.
Great essay. And it should be read by everybody on any social network. It will make them all better. But, if we can keep that up here, it would be awesome.
Thanks for writing those thoughts. Some of it should be common sense, but it's not. It's definitely tough "starting over" in a new social network, but so far I am finding lots of nice features here. I haven't found the channels you have mentioned yet, though. Where should I look for that?
Great write-up Cameron. This list is exactly why I love Farcaster/Warpcast more than the other web 3 social media options
thanks for writing this cameron. twitter is meh right now and threads is a giant circle jerk about how it “changes everything” (rarely is that the case when that phrase is used). i’d love to be more active on here, but trying to figure out how best to show up, especially with not being a crypto native
Thought this opinion piece on Threads was great. One of the last comments that while 30m users in a day is impressive it annihilates any chance of an authentic, organic & unique culture being created. Farcaster still 'seems' to be one of the only 'alts' which has developed this. https://tinyurl.com/threadsculture
Really great cast @cameron! As a new comer here I can absolutely tell what makes Farcaster stand out and your post captures it well. Our eternal September is coming, but I’m hopeful that channels allow users to cling to some of that original culture.
