2, but teetering on 1 based on : Climate, the Middle East, Authoritarianism
Somewhere between 0-1. There are too many major problems converging now, and at a pace that we are fundamentally unable to address in time.
I float between 1. & despair to realising it’s all just a happening with us being conscious witnesses to flux.
2. When there’s up, there’s down and vice versa. It should be fine eventually. 🙂
1 I think people underestimate how culture informs adoption, and most of the liabilities to me originate from a culture of insulation & largesse. science & technology often break the law & involve individual sacrifice before later generations have the culture to celebrate them. we might rediscover fire for the few.
5 I wouldn’t say I have no concerns, but my feelings don’t usually change on the daily. I’m privileged to be able to stay Zen about the macro and not get too worked up about the news.
2. “We” as a whole will be fine. The innocent people stuck on the land that’s being fought over are the losses I’m worried about.
2,I believe that technology will benefit humanity, and when we no longer struggle for survival, love and justice will be deeply rooted in the hearts of most people
1 / 2 depending on how willing we are to accept that the problems are real you must love the problem to solve it
2 I’m definitely concerned about all of today’s problems, but I’m very optimistic that we’ll solve them as they become more urgent
1. Big medias around the world are not helping, feeding all that negativity to people, perpetuating division amongst humans instead of spreading knowledge and understanding.
1 There are probable and improbable things, but those assessments are based on what is or isn’t going on in the world. Right now, the things going on in the world have made previously improbable things much more probable and that is extremely concerning imo
2. i don't know whats gonna happen so imma stay in my bubble and do my part
5. …I’m all honesty I spend a lot of time in 1. But I have to remind myself that our beliefs about the world impact reality. It is easy to be a pathological skeptic. The person I want to be is one that actively works on imagining a better future regardless of current events.
2. I think however, we need to start learning from mistakes from the past and work for a more just future
1 Sliding between 1 & 2 and don’t see that changing anytime soon. Welcome to web3: the intersection of frustration and hope.
5. Very optimistic. For sure lots of challenges ahead, but we’re entering a new civilisational era
4 Either the rapture is about to happen or we are about to do a re-run of '08 with double the leverage. Either way God's got a plan.
3. Neutral Reasoning: As someone who spent 35 years in the Middle East, I am even more optimistic as long as I have the means to defend myself against health hazards. I lived through what it means not to be neutral in the face of this, and hence. But I also find solace in helping people who are nervous.
1. While I'm generally optimistic about our outcomes as a whole, the question of "future on what timeline?" comes to mind. In the immediate term, I am extremely concerned about the coming decades.
These options have a bit of a pessimistic bias, because there's only one "optimistic" option and even that one has the word "concerned" in it. What's wrong with just "excited"? 😅
