Feature request: unfollowing someone should come with feedback. It’s a moment of improvement and reflection. You don’t just walk away from a relationship, you create closure. (This is obviously from my personal experience)

Love the instinct, but I think this really often turns into a harassment vector for asymmetric power interactions (ultra vitriol from hate follows finally leaving or offended formerly followed parties retaliating)

How often do you provide feedback when unsubscribing from a newsletter?

Honest feedback is so important for personal growth and sorely lacking in most adult's lives. Feedback should not be public as it'll become another attack vector as @cameron mentioned. @pcdkd I do like providing feedback.. especially if it's not a canned form. Maybe Farcastr feedback forms could be personalizable?

I read a piece somewhere, maybe hbr actually, with a counter point on feedback and its general use-fullness, it was rather compelling at the time

Might be useful for now, but imho it would create unnecessary barriers and damage on the user experience. Anyone can follow or unfollow who ever they want. You can't be liked by everyone, even if you share quality content.

I get the sentiment but I feel it would do more bad than good if it was forced. I’d make it optional at best. Just like in a relationship, each party has the right to withdraw fully without giving an explanation.
