my follow/unfollow algo: if profile has ⬇️ following and ⬆️ follower counts then unfollow, else follow my theory is that people who don’t follow very many but themselves have a lot of followers are probably popular on the bird app and used to the culture there and so less likely to engage here. diva energy
I follow you now and I have one more follower than my current following number. So after this cast I’m really thinking about making it 2. 😉

I've never thought about it this way before. So do you then tend to follow "indie" centric social media users. Like more tweeting to archive as opposed to like for attention, zineish follow ratios?

I would fit this algo but was NOT that kind of bird app user. The vibe here is different enough that I’ve been slower to follow folks
Still forming an algo here. Current experiment is to read my own feed in FC app, then spend similar amount of time in the full FC river https://getpurple.xyz/ to get a feel for what else is happening. Early days enough here to get a decent fingerspitzengefühl. Curious to hear how others spend their FC time

I just hit follow for a few random suggested accounts everyday – see what shows up in my feed and unfollow if the content isn’t for me. 🤔
Meh, I'm in this the same as on the bird app: I just want an interesting chronological feed. If an account drowns out others in my timeline it gets unfollowed (or at least recasts get muted (is that possible here?)). I really couldn't care less about the highschoolish drama over follower/following ratios.
