I know a little somethin' about this. Banks want the deposits & pmts fees badly. They can do it, but it's tricky biz for them. Basically any day, the Feds can sue the bank & arrest for money laundering 'cause it's illegal at Fed level. Yup.. System is broken.

To be fair, individuals states legalizing != legalization โacross the countryโ. Itโs still federally legal in the US. I can fly with cannabis across Provincial lines in Canada. Try pulling that across State lines in the US and revisit this post.

just fyi this is much easier said than done. conversion of customers to crypto, onramping while making them kyc, custodial issues if tying this directly to the payment, payment request interface, offramp for businesses in a way that passes kyb. Finding banks that are ok with crypto, then parlaying weed as well

I've talked to several shops myself and asked why they don't accept crypto payments. Usually, the answer is along the lines of "idk, it seems complicated" or "good idea," but they don't act on it. We need something that really gets them to realize the improvements it brings.
