I can’t see the movement specifically targeting the internet as the issue but more that they might target technology in general.. neo-Amish.. I have a tribe based on this in the story I’m working on..

The luddites are seen as reflexive tech-haters but their movement was built on a critique of how it was used to cynically disrupt the communities that had expertise like weaving. I’d say that kind of critique is useful and is all around us, including from pioneers in our space!

What came to mind for me is the Just Say No Nancy Regan movement. I feel like if we had a neo-Luddite movement it would have that feel. Not government sponsor (hopefully) but similar branding and targeting of youth. Guess Timothy Leary’s Turn On, Tune In, Drop Out…meets Kill Your TV…might be more what I’m gett
