Last battle I remember was DHH vs Apple: https://www.hey.com/apple. I don't think they backed down an inch.

No, AFAIK. Developers earning <$1M pay reduced fees (15% instead of 30%)

Yes, but in private. They cut private deals with certain applications. In public and in the courts, they have never budged.

When reversing, they usually say that the policy was misinterpreted by the app store reviewers. Been stuck for 4 months once. Every time it happens around Black Friday cause thats when new policy starts to get enforced so they block all the apps according to it. Sometimes after lots of pushback reverse happens
