what happened to writing in cursive? i thought that was the future when i was in 3rd grade
There were a lot of lies been told when we were in 3rd grade I thought algebra would make us rich
Computers. I told my kids they need to learn to type before they learn cursive. Great for signatures though. 1337 $DEGEN
It’s an elective now. I don’t love it because there is a lot of evidence pen to paper helps many people retain information. My daughter and I both fall in that category. Still there are so many new things kids are required to learn, mastering cursive had to fall
i wont write in cursive unless i need to, but i think some people take notes in cursive since they can write faster since they dont have to lift their pen as much
That’s what the teacher wanted you to think so you’d learn it. I haven’t used cursive since 5th grade.
Cursive script is reminiscent of the Renaissance I’ve been writing in technical/architectural style (see link) since I was a kid Despite teachers urging me to adopt cursive for its supposed superiority, I resisted their whimsical demands https://pin.it/3Y63fXhvk
I'm barely able anymore as I rarely need it in my daily life but when I needed it, didn't made me feel good to almost feel unable to, I thought more than once to start practicing 😅
Cursive is still taught here in my country, and I still use it when I'm lazy so I can write faster. My niece hates learning it, though. 😆
Its crazy to think some young kids these days don't even know cursive... I think they stopped teaching it (at least in public schools in FL where my nieces & nephews go)
