hey guess what i'm actually building something quick survey: 1. how are you currently discovering new users on warpcast? 2. if you could change anything about the discovery process, what would you change? 3. what profile info do you pay attention to the most?
1. /welcome , in others' replies, in my replies, @outcasters newsletter 2. cultural norm to follow back X% of your new followers. maybe a simple webapp with a button to do so randomly, and some cleanup tools 3. followed by high-signal taste-makers who I feel are aligned with my values
Good questions, I’d say I’m using farcaster to discover likeminded people and people who are building something cool 1. Mostly browsing on /founders 2. See more relevant stuff 3. Founder and if I can try the product
1) looking at replies of people I follow. Trending content. 2) make it easier to see new users, users like me, topics to know who is posting about what. 3) active user badge, bio, nfts.
1. checking out people who followed me or interesting posters in channels 2. not a high priority for me at the moment, good enough as it is 3. i look at posts, not profile info
1. Through channels I frequent or if someone interesting me follows me first 2. Being exposed to people who have signals as I do (bio keywords, NFTs, mutual followers, etc) 3. Keywords in bio 1000%, then “also followed by” if they’re not new users
👀whatchu upto?! 1. Random browsing 2. Stop only seeing already very big accounts as “suggested to follow” 3. Tone of posts probably 🌸
1. Browsing channels and noticing the (+) by the avatar 2. Suggested follows disproportionately suggests people with big followings. I'd fix that. 3. I'll read their latest casts, though bio def plays a role
1. Interesting people in channels I follow. Occasionally scrolling through new follows and finding people I know from elsewhere. 2. More easily see Twitter mutuals 3. Mutual followers, location, bio, recent posts.
1. they follow me and i will follow back or they get recasted by people i love to follow 2. too many teapots, so whatever fixes that 3. if my people follow them
1. i see their casts or replies - helps me know that they’re active 2.A make it easier for me to know that the user casts. i ignore the list views because i know most users aren’t active 2.B your question made me think a “justunfollow” like tool to unfollow inactive users would be helpful 3. casts
1. Replies and likes to my casts, interesting casts on channels I follow/host 2. More real humans less bots / folks who are just here for farming 3. What they are building/interested in besides crypto, links
1. primarily notifs & feed (replies more so), channel hosts/active casters 2. Discovery feed is underdeveloped, could do more for intent-driven actions. (1. is serendipitous) 3. bio, "followed by..", recent casts - in that order
I’d change it so posts are shown in a fair way with a non prejudiced “algorithm”… there’s always some POS on the backend, making sure nobody sees my posts and it’s happening here too. It’s bullsht
1. interactions in channels and with other people I follow 2. Process is fine for me 3. Not everyone fills it out so I appreciate anything they put in
Bio is number one. Activity is second. I don’t care how many followers someone has, I just want to know that the person is interesting and engaging.
1. People who reply to meet or show up on my feed 2. TBH I have no idea 3. Bio and the last couple of casts
1. Mostly through posts on channels I frequent, or in replies to my own posts 2. I wish the “recommended” users on the search tab were more personalized and less focused on larger accounts 3. Bio > recent casts > follower count
