With the Discovery acquisition, sadly, HBO's future seems very uncertain. Which streaming network will pickup the mantle to produce top quality shows HBO is known for? Based on the type of shows they have today, I'd say Apple TV+ and FX on Hulu might be good contenders. Thought?

I think HBO will continue to produce great content. Casey Bloys controls the unit and has great taste. WBD management is trying to monetize the existing library and cut costs for HBO Max originals within the 1 year write off period post merger.
Important to separate HBO Originals and HBO Max. HBO Originals will continue to produce great content despite Discovery’s cost cutting. HBO Max’s future is very uncertain and it will likely get fully absorbed into Discovery’s streaming unit
