roasted, sautéed, grilled, whatever, asparagus should always be pencil thin. 3 pieces of thicc, stalky asparagus is one of the worst sides you can get an upscale restaurant.

fun fact: asparagus have genders and the male asparagus usually has a much larger spear-size. agree with you though, thin all the way

Have you ever try this white asparagus? If It has enough quality they are delicious! And it doesn't matter if they are thin or not.😉

the trick with asparagus is to bend it till it snaps it always snaps at the perfect place take the thinner parts from the snapped pieces and roast/grill/suatee/pickle/etc it will always be soft
