I'm going to get a Mac, what is the best way to merge your development environment between a Linux and a Mac ? Is having a git repo for your home folder with all your config files crazy ?

I migrated from Arch to macOS 2 years ago. I stored dotfiles in a repo. It was copy-paste operation, Only Emacs caused problem because I had to recompile some native packages.
