PSA -- we're continuing with our deliberate growth strategy. We had been growing a bit too fast in October and quality was suffering. https://farcasterxyz.notion.site/Deliberate-growth-ea4c45c89ca14960b3b1ff3013754c7e

When you say it dropped, you mean retention or subjective quality of the casts you see?

Fwiw as a builder it’s really motivating to see a public acknowledgement of things not being VC narrative perfect and your plan to tackle it.

What were the telltale signs that quality was suffering? Curious how you made the decision

Hyper growth is such a footgun spurred on by VC backing, so I’m glad to see you all being more deliberate, intentional, and sustainable with it.

If you ever want connections to some great infra eng people, I have some folks who were early at WhatsApp and Twitch who might be interested in connecting and sharing advice.

Your thoughts on competition? More open protocol may onboard users faster and then get more resources and growth

Good call. It’s also easier to support a smaller, high quality community than a larger one. We’ve seen many teams doubling down on quality > quantity in recent months.
