what’s the last thing you tried that you weren’t good at? and did you keep trying it? I’ll go first: video editing, and yes because I needed it as part of a gift I was giving.
there are too many things… once the excitement wears off and the skill level i have does not match the projection in my head i end up giving up. trying to work on perseverance in 2023.
Coding in python, mostly because I had to understand the new way of thinking. But managed to reach my 95/100 lesson, probably will end the course before EOY :)
About a year ago I started bouldering. I wasn’t good at first - no technique of course but also no strength. I did love the challenge though; now I go 2-3 times a week.
Bouldering at a climbing gym. And yes I kept trying bc I wanted to challenge myself and remember what it’s like to be a noob. Oh and the friends I had teaching me were pretty rad too.
Playing pool. I’ve always sucked at it & likely always will which is kinda weird because it’s heavy on geometry (my favorite math)
Surfing: tried multiple times, in multiple places (SoCal, HI, South Africa), solo and with instructor. Did not enjoy it almost at all. If anything, it further increased my love for sailing :)
i used to be really bad at making music, then became better over time, then I stopped because of school so am probably bad again :(
Winter sports. I moved from a tropical country, and the whole idea of winter sports is new to me. I was terrible at it last season, but I did pretty well a couple of times since the season started.
