something very dystopian about crypto social ppl from rich counties looking down on airdrop farmers and "spam" these ppl live an existence where the cost of your monthly ETH gas could be life changing they're scrapping and clawing to make a better life but God forbid that makes your doomscrolling less efficient
agree - all these people have decided that participating in the onchain economy is the best way for them to earn a living and they are working to convert their time and energy into ownership of the protocols that will power that economy.
The world is somewhat dystopian since the Axie Infinity days... If you think about it OnlyFans is even worse when ppl from less developed countries "perform" online
100% i also think it is dehumanizing to just label them as bots publicly. it's a permissionless global protocol and it's completely logical for them to behave that way. you should try to change the incentive structures in a scalable way, not shit on like most of the world's population
I think this is an excellent point. These airdrops can be game changer for people all over the world and even in your own backyard.
I’m not opposed to anybody making a come up. Everybody deserves empathy. Though when the behavior becomes “not okay”, how is a person to differentiate between a disingenuous actor and a truly bad actor? Also, for PMs, how are they supposed to know they aren’t wasting their time on a sea of bot/cloned accounts?
I agree with the sentiment but I'm not sure the word dystopian is quite right although I recognize that I'm part of the problem https://warpcast.com/markfishman/0x23943918
Most of crypto is built on the assumption that the regular user is a Western middle class person imo. https://warpcast.com/sohey.eth/0xbaafec4a
They have no idea it is one of the best ways to onboard new people in poor countries
There's no better way to put it than this. A lot of people in my home country rely on airdrop as their primary source of income.
