Great post by OP evaluating their last round of retroactive public goods funding and where they can improve. https://optimism.mirror.xyz/7v1DehEY3dpRcYFhqWrVNc9Qj94H2L976LKlWH1FX-8
“I think doing RPGF (retro funding) in this granular of a form incentivizes doing more visible and “popular” work in a degenerate way.” Super relevant as we move forward Turns out (surprise surprise) group decisions are always hard and good compromise always annoys somebody lol
“Without public goods funding, projects that can’t accept payment from users in order to stay neutral and nonpartisan could run out of cash and cease to operate.” I haven’t heard this justification for PGF before but it makes total sense
General question about public goods funding. This was a question in the OP app: 👉 “How do you sustain yourself? Please list sources of funding and revenue.” Doesn’t revenue disqualify a project as a public good?
My grant was covered by a delegate because OP introduced the requirement of proof of wealth after the kyc. It's sad that they didn't mention this area of improvement. Talking to their legal team was a waste of time.
