If you think Elon is just a “marketer”, you’ve never built something of significance. And thinking that doesn’t make you a sycophant.
You can dislike or disagree with him, but the mental gymnastics required to argue that SpaceX reusable rockets, Tesla number of cars / battery capacity shipped and then Starlink existing is marketing is Olympic gold-worthy.
His friend Peter Thiel calls him a "sales grandmaster" in his book "Zero to One". I think that's a pretty accurate definition. Definitely not "just a marketer", but surely an unscrupulous marketer.
It’s an increasingly difficult position and world for Musk as he systematically reveals he has the taste of a rebellious 12-year-old discovering eBaum’s world in 2002. I don’t know many who want to be marketed the taste of such an undeveloped individual.
