"$6 coffee wtf" is something i come across often. and i agree that the coffee itself is overpriced, but it's the price of the experience/vibe of the place. that music, scent, people, and beyond. that time and space you get, to work on what you love.

true, but then we should consider charging different prices for "dine in" and "takeaway" coffees. in italy, people order a capaccino and down it in sips because they get charged if they "sit". practically, challenges are: a) hard to enforce, and b) worse margins. anopportunity is: a) more customers due to lower price
