unpopular opinion: more disappointed and discouraged by the bankless hosts than by Eliezer Yudkowsky after listening to the most recent “We’re All Gonna Die” episode

Call me an optimist but I think we’ll live our lives and AI won’t kill us all.

I chose not to listen to this one because the title made me avoid it

maybe not so unpopular. everyone who believes AI will ultimately end society in 20years seems blind to world events happening right now

Stopped listening to them. Would pick up again, but just haven't seen anything interesting or gotten recommended an episode in a while. What other crypto podcast should I check out?

not at all. I started listening to it last week & stopped because as much as I love David & Ryan, they were out of their depths for this one. they veered outside of their core competency is all.

Totally agree. I actually was hoping, based on the preface, that E would have something more to say than what waitbutwhy covered in 2015 blog posts about AGI. It wasn’t original, they weren’t probing, and I didn’t learn any new frameworks to think about it.

Imo Bankless boys did a great job, they probably didn't know how pesimist Eliezer would be... I listened the podcast till the end and yea was kind of sad 😢 ending I would encourage anyone who listened Eliezer to listen to Jordan Hall https://open.spotify.com/episode/1UUWfcXYMOSOnv5VRaZ5Lu?si=NeV85r_aQSKC8VajtK6FSw

Obligatory Apocalypse+Politics quote from Thiel that everyone within their specialized field of apocalypse prediction outrageously calls whataboutism.

Completely agree. I particularly agree with your comment that he was an irresponsible choice as an entry point to the AI alignment discussion.
