I think it's been pretty healthy but maybe I've not seen the true vitriol
DM me if you want. I know quite a few SREs and a couple devops folks
I think you're both right and wrong. 50 is treated as the new 30 but it shouldn't be because that's a bad thing actually. But also being unambitious isn't necessarily a bad thing. As a 31yo with 4 kids I'm stoked to be in my prime during their childhood and hopeful to see their children's children.
More people need to wake up. I also think this goes really well with the @balajis.eth idea about tribes. Too many blue tribe NPCs in favor of regulation because it's the party line and too many red tribe NPCs not speaking up because regulation benefits the defense industry.
The reason Silicon Valley has been so successful is that it's so fucking far from Washington DC https://youtu.be/F9cO3-MLHOM?si=r4slKm08VJG4WQUi
Everybody's Fool by Richard Russo. I read nobody's fool many years ago and saw the third book in the series at the library so I decided to pick up the middle book in the trilogy. It's enjoyable 100 pages in.
I have this irrational bias against parallelization which is weird as a go dev. I think it probably comes from debugging parallel shit in languages that don't make it friendly. Anyhow I pushed past the bias and sped up an algorithm by 100x this week so that feels good.
The concept of granting capital for it before value has been demonstrated is my concern. If you did a mini sprint pro bono, that resulted in a recommendation Purple took, then asking for funds to continue makes a ton of sense to me. It's been derisked from a risk/reward standpoint.
I'd want to see the kind of proposal the group proposes to propose after doing the meta work this proposal proposes. š
The bureaucracy tolerable is that which folks are willing to volunteer to do. If that's sporadic as ppl get the urge to make a proposal, I'm ok with that. I'd be more supportive of this if the group went and delivered an impressive proposal in a week, and then after that got approved asked for funding to continue.
Always hard to say, but one that I don't see mentioned often that I really liked is Good Night, and Good Luck https://g.co/kgs/VEJZUw
FYI the wallet connect app name shills ThirdWeb :) Also I'm sure you know but mobile was borderline unusable. But the connection and verification worked!
I feel like Superfluid is not the right hammer for the problem here. Spin up an embedded wallet for this app, let the user fund it with crypto or fiat once and then do whatever with Superfluid or usdc permits after that. Email when the balance is getting low. cc @corbin.eth
