Even if Friend.tech fails to gain lasting traction, it's still brought many people onchain (specifically onto an L2) and shown that crypto apps can work without needing to be on an app store It's still quite clunky, but it feels like a 0 to 1 moment for onchain/crypto UX
I've been surprised by how comprehensively NFT activity has shifted to L2. In a little over a month we've seen +90% of Zora activity move to L2. It's very early, but it's looking like we're seeing activity we wouldn't have otherwise seen on L1. Optimistically, that means expanding the market!

Announcing the first Farcaster L2: Cast! After working 6 years on Meta infra for 3 billion users, I knew Farcaster proliferation had to be cheaper - we built it. Cast today has ~500,000 messages external to Farcaster, with ~30,000 .cast handles, only costing $0.39/year on OP!
Can everyone deploying farcaster meme coins in the future please do so on an L2? Memes are more fun when gas is cheap.

As a bystander, I’m astonished by the amount of backlash on Crypto Twitter against Blur. Criticisms include “just a multisig not a real L2” and “just an MLM scheme”. Crypto Twitter is so enamored with technical innovation but does not respect the laborious distribution work. Both are equally important.

Hard to imagine a world where L2 tokens don't outperform BTC and ETH in the next cycle. BTC and ETH will moon tremendously - but L2 tokens will even more. If all goes according to plan - the vast majority of users will start on L2 and it only feels intuitive the underlying networks capture the most upside.
