Thought: In a world of infinite apps, software is fashion Using Farcaster or Linear says as much about you as wearing a pair of balenciagas I think more software should be built explicitly around this idea
I bet for every piece of software you use you can picture the outfit of the person who loves it: - Farcaster (patagonia?) - Notion (hipster John lennon glasses??) - Facebook (white new balances but unironically???)
@perl i was thinking this the other day too. it's your identity. #wokecasts
IMO social apps have 3 vectors: 1) Features - what you can do on a particular social media (photos, tweets, check NFTs), 2) Social graph - what people can you interact with and what’s your relation to them, 3) Vibes - what it's really about for majority of the most influential users. 2)&3) are in line with fashion
It’s only a matter of time before a product/UX designer becomes a creative director for a fashion house.
Related: I’ve always believe software is a form of creative expression.
yea def agree here. i actually think i judge people more based on the software they use and their software hygene (eg not updating chrome/brave when there are new updates), than the clothes they wear. lol
